How Railroads Changed America

I was twenty-five years old when trains were invented in the 19th century. It was so much faster and easier to get place to place. I was so used to walking, riding horses, and taking a wagon everywhere I went. The way trains changed America for the better, is made food easier to get because the food got there faster and it was in the store before it spoiled. Even though trains were fast, the first trains traveled at horse's pace. By the end of the 19th century some trains reached 100 mph (160 kmh). The fastest steam train is Millard. It reached 100 mph (202 kmh) in 1938. modern high speed trains, like Germany intercity express ice. When trains came out in the 19th century signaling was done by white flags. When my father retired I took over his job. my moms friend George Stephenson invented the trains in (1781-1848) called the father of the rail roads Stephenson was a self educated engineer whose rocket  won a competition in England for the best locomotive. he helped to prove that railroads could be successful he also showed how railroad lines could be built almost anywhere.  The united states now has over 200,000 miles (320,000 kilometers). The railroads however expanded  rapidly over the 19th century and brought far-away places closer. the first steam-powered trains were built in the early 1800s by Richard Thickener. When people ask me what America's trains were mostly invented for i it was for travel to be faster. That is the story of how trains changes America.
